Marjhan Kausar is a jet-setting content creator with an eye for design. She has cultivated a unique personal style defined by a combination of luxury and high street brands with handmade, independent designers.

A hardworking piece of furniture 

When Marjhan purchased her Jasper Sofa, she opted for a grey colour for her covers. This was a strategic choice, knowing that she would need a fabric that would be forgiving of her two new puppies. When she welcomed her son, she was even more grateful for choosing a shade that would mask spills and marks. 

“The covers really stood the test of time,” she affirms. “I had them sprayed with KingGuard and they were dry cleaned every few months. The quality of the fabric stayed true to its original texture, which is amazing for a 7-year-old sofa!” 

One of the reasons Marjhan was drawn to the Jasper Sofa was because she could configure it in different ways. Originally, she had the sofa configured in a U-shape. This didn’t work when she and her family moved into their new apartment so they used the sofa across two seating areas. 

“We now have a seating area for the family and watching television and another for when guests come over. I honestly love how it looks both ways.”

Time for a change

In early 2024, Marjhan decided it was time for a change. She loved her Jasper Sofa but wanted to see it in a new light… and a lighter colour. 

“Our sofa is a huge part of our everyday lives and it’s something you notice immediately when you walk into our apartment,” she explains. “I knew it would make a big difference to give it a glow-up.” 

The new cream-coloured fabric – Club Natural – Marjhan chose has breathed new life into her home, brightening the space. 

“I’m someone who adores colour,” she adds. “I feel like the cream colour just makes our carpets pop even more. Lighter colours always make a space feel bigger, which is also such a nice feeling.” 

During the recovering process, Marjhan also took the opportunity to replace the wood panels of her sofa with soft arms. With young children running around, she wanted to eliminate any harsh edges. 

“I asked the King Care team and it was no problem for them to make the soft arms,” she recalls. “They had my measurements on file and it was an easy process for me.”
