The Opportunity
The Group Tax Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the group tax strategy, managing global tax operations, and ensuring compliance with international tax obligations.
As a key member of the global finance and accounting team, this role plays a crucial part in enhancing King Living’s international growth, ensuring transactional transparency, operational efficiency, and the production of high-quality financial information.
Key responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the group’s tax records, overseeing global tax lodgements, and ensuring statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

The Role
- Establish and maintain a business suitable tax governance framework.
- Management of relationships with external taxation service providers.
- Ensure that structures in place most efficiently meet the needs of the business and its shareholders.
- International transfer pricing arrangements are suitable for the business and complied with in all relevant jurisdictions.
- Lead the businesses tax entry into new markets / countries / states.
- Engagement with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and equivalent organisations in KING’s international markets (USA, Canada, UK, NZ, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Thailand).
- Liaise with internal Manufacturing and Logistics teams on international tariffs, customs & duties.
- Ensure global tax compliance for all direct and indirect taxes, including income tax returns, transfer pricing, BAS returns, GST, PST, WHT, FBT and any other relevant taxes. This will include the oversite of monthly/quarterly/annual tax routines to ensure tax compliance obligations are met and statutory and effective taxation can be reconciled.
- Be the internal tax expert with analysis of new or changed tax legislation to understand the impact on the group and providing sound professional advice to management on all tax matters. This may include working closely with external advisors to provide advice on appropriate structure
- Contribute to taxation strategy and tactics to maximise opportunities whilst minimising tax.
- Create a function of best practise with ongoing continuous improvement through well documented and enhanced procedures and improvements in the controls and processes through greater automation and system development to drive efficiencies and value across the business.
- Identify and assess the impact of tax law changes on the group and lead the most effective implementation of these changes Statutory Compliance
- Managing country specific compliance obligations for the group and establish new processes where required.
- Create and maintain a database for all entities of director’s, shareholders and advisors' and ensure any changes are in line with local legal requirements on all company secretarial matters.
- Ensure all corporate registers are updated appropriately and all required board resolutions are appropriately executed and filed.
- Monthly transfer pricing calculations, continuously improving the process and reviewing related party transactions.
- Direct all tax postings.
- Support new market expansion, including but not limited to establishing corporate compliance, tax due diligence, selection of outsourced providers and corporate registrations.
- Assist Statutory Audit process for tax related subject matter.
About You
- Over 5 years’ post qualification experience in corporate taxation in a global corporate group or a large tax/accounting firm, must have commercial exposure with product sales.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Australian taxation and exposure to global tax and cross border transactions.
- Experience in a corporate tax function across income tax, transfer pricing, GST and FBT.
- Sound knowledge of internal control mechanisms and processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting.
- Hands on, strong technical expert.
- Understanding and experience in best practice accounting, taxation and governance practices
- Proficient with large ERP systems, preferably SAP, with a proven ability to move through large amounts of data with strong excel ability.
- Able to contribute to the process of continuous improvement of the taxation and financial accounting functions
